  1. ECONOMICS AND OVERALL BUSINESS: Explore the American business system as it relates to the global economy.
  2. FORMS OF BUSINESS OWNERSHIP: Identify, differentiate, and discuss the advantages and disadvantages of the various forms of business ownership (sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation, franchise) in the global economy.
  3. BUSINESS MANAGEMENT: Examine the management process.
  4. LEADERSHIP: Discuss the principles of motivation as they relate to people in an effective business organization.
  5. HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT: Identify the role human resource management plays in the operation of a business organization.
  6. UNION RELATIONS: Evaluate the role union-management relations play in the operation of a business organization.
  7. MARKETING: Explain how marketing concepts relate to business success.
  8. FINANCE: Investigate financial management and explain how business organizations generate capital.
  9. INVESTING: Investigate investment opportunities created for individuals.
  10. RISK MANAGEMENT: Analyze risk involved in a business and explain how insurance can be used to minimize potential losses.
  11. ACCOUNTING: Develop an understanding of the basic accounting principles used by a business.
  12. LAW: Assess how business law affects the operation of a business.
